MADISON-FREIBURG
SISTER CITY COMMITTEE
Bylaw Changes
The Madison-Freiburg
Sister City Committee (MF-SCC) has been growing in size over the last
several years, in part because of the membership recruitment efforts
spearheaded by John Jacoby in arranging a table at the Farmer's Market
around the square. We have encouraged people to sign up for our e-newsletter
and have now collected over 200 members. We have also streamlined the
method of informing our membership by adding a web site maintained by
Sabine Moedersheim and a regular email e-newsletter contributed by many.
Since we have eliminated the cost of postage and newsletter printing,
the Board has decided to make the annual dues "zero". We encourage
all to instead, send a tax-deductible contribution to support the MF-SCC
activities, events, and scholarship fund. Fee for service events, such
as the annual dinner, will still require a defined charge and will not
be tax-deductible.
Because the
organization is growing, and because there are many more activities,
the Board has decided to expand larger than the nine members currently
set in the Bylaws. Also, we have the past few years held our annual
meeting in February or March, rather than the Bylaw set October. In
order to improve the organization, we have proposed to change the bylaws
as shown below. Please refer to the MF-SCC web site for the full Bylaws
as they are currently written.
The bylaw changes
will be voted on at a "Special Meeting" as called out in Section
VII, Paragraph 2 announced by writing (web announcement and email) at
least two weeks before the meeting on Saturday, June 13, 2-4 Stammtisch
at Capital Brewery Beer Garden
7734 Terrace Ave, Middleton, WI 53562
